The Adams creek canal takes you from the neuse to the newport river and The entrance to Beaufort and the Beaufort Inlet. There a lot of submerged piles shown on the charts at the beginning of the canal. One of them is shown in the middle. I have yet to find out if it is still there as these things change. With all the large vessels the pass through here one would expect that it would be broken off but we never assume and go slowly at that point.
