There is a swift current in this anchorage. The city marina has a dinghy dock which is difficult to find. Enter behind and to the south of the "Mega Dock" and go about half way back north till you can see a break all the way through to the shore. Turn right and you will find the dinghy dock on the right. It's $5 a day if you choose to pay. Few do. There is a convenience store gas station and liquor and wine store and restaurant in the marina parking lot. To pay for the dinghy dock you must walk out and around all that and more. Then back down the center to the marina office. By then you could have done all shopping you can at the stores there. You can dinghy to the bridge in Wapoo creek and tie up at a public dock, walk across the bridge to the Piggly Wiggly, Dollar Gen, and Drug Store. There are no Grocery stores in walking distance from the city marina.

Restricted opening
From April 1 to November 30, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays, 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, the bridge opens on the hour and half-hour. From June 1 to September 30, and from December 1 to March 30, the bridge does not open at all between the hours of 6:30 am to 9:00 am, and from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm. From April 1 to May 31, and from October 1 to November 30, Monday through Friday, the bridge does not open at all between the hours of 6:00 am to 9:00am, and from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm.
